Many people ask "What is there to do in Bangphlat?" when they arrive at marina house. My answer is always "Thankfully not a lot". The highlights of Bangphlat are its riverside location, Tesco Lotus and its proximity to lots of interesting areas.
For every day survival Bangphlat has it all. When you start to need more than this Pin Klao provides 80% of the rest.
It has been 4 years since marina house opened on the banks of the Chao Praya river in Bangphlat. For a Bangkok apartment block marina house has been very well maintained with regular repainting of the rooms and the communal areas. The most important communal feature of marina house is our 100sqm deck on the riverfront. Due to this popularity the decking has seen a lot of human traffic and usage over the 48 months since our opening. Due to a rushed effort to finish marina house on schedule and the damage caused, by the Bangkok Flood of 2011, to the bank that our deck is set in our decking was in need of a complete rebuild.
The first stage of the MRT construction on Charan Sanit Wong has provided a lot of local transport issues as the road was reduced to one lane at stages and contraflows at others. We are pleased to announce that this situation has dramatically improved with delays on the southbound side reduced back to normal levels (busy in the rush hour) and only a minor increase in times heading north on the approach to the marina house area. This delay is adding around 3-5 minutes to normal commuting times on this stretch as traffic works down from 3 lanes to 2 lanes.
During 2011 work started on Charan Sanit Wong to extend the MRT (metro) system in Bangkok. This work is due to be completed in 2015 to extend the MRT line that already runs from Hualamphong (main railway station) to Bang Sue (the future high speed rail terminus to China). The station list will be as follows (of interest/use to marina house):
