Since our last refurbishment the flood wall at the front of marina house has been raised by 80cm taking away a small portion of the intimacy of the river. We still have the stunning views but the decking doesn't feel quite so involved with the river. We obviously welcome the increased protection that this offers our local environment but we feel that this has taken away something from our stunning location.
At present it is still possible to sit on one of our loungers or benches and see the river and its life however there is none of the original "commanding" view that we have enjoyed in the past.
Our rebuild project will repair all the wear and tear of the past 2.5 years and will feature the building of a new raised "lounging" platform running along a large expanse of the riverfront wall. This area will be built to accommodate small groups of people in a more elevated position. It will also provide the rest of the deck with more "intimate" areas where people will be able to relax peacefully and discretely supporting all users of our excellent location.
This project will commence towards the end of the rainy season between September and October 2014 providing marina house with a new deck and furniture in time for the cooler and drier winter months.
